DOBA Wins Project Management Award at 2025 ACEI Awards for St. Conleth’s Park Redevelopment

Donnachadh O’Brien & Associates Consulting Engineers (DOBA) are proud to announce that we were awarded the 2025 ACEI Project Management Award for our work on the redevelopment of St. Conleth’s Park, Newbridge, Co. Kildare.

The award was presented at the ACEI Awards Ceremony on April 12th, 2025 in Dublin, celebrating engineering excellence across Ireland. Representing DOBA on the night were Donnachadh O’Brien, Richard Kiernan, and Thomas Nolan, whose leadership and expertise were central to the success of this landmark project.

The redevelopment of St. Conleth’s Park reimagined a historic GAA ground in the centre of Newbridge, delivering modern infrastructure while preserving its unique urban and historical context. The project included:

  • Construction of a 3,000-seat grandstand
  • Provision of athlete, hospitality, and corporate facilities
  • A new sand-based grass pitch with floodlighting
  • A redesigned entrance, new turnstiles, and boundary enclosures
  • Conservation and restoration of the listed Athgarvan Road entrance archway

A significant sustainability milestone was achieved, with St. Conleth’s Park becoming the first BER A-rated GAA stadium in Ireland — highlighting the project’s forward-thinking approach to energy performance and environmental design.

We’re pleased to share some official photos from the ACEI Awards ceremony, where this achievement was celebrated alongside peers from across the engineering industry.

DOBA would like to thank the ACEI, our collaborators, and the wider project team for their contributions and continued commitment to engineering excellence.
